Java not working in OsX 10.7 Lion?

July 25th, 2011

I hate Java. I always have. As much as it is a software that can run on any system, I find the download a pain in the ass. I also find that it is extremely slow, buggy and not widely used where I go online. Keepvid.com however uses Java, as I discovered today, and OSX 10.7 Lion does not ship with Java as I also discovered today.

In fact, it’s a 62Mb download for Java for OsX Lion 10.7 from Apple.com. Contrary to some reports that you need a developer account for this download I seemed to find it pretty easily on Apple.com. You can get it here: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1421

When you install the update you will need to shutdown your browsers. If you are still experiencing problems, use spotlight to find Java Preferences and resolve further issues you may have there.
