Flash CS4, Extensions and Help File Problems

flashonlinehelp

I have been using Adobe CS4 Web Suite ( or equivalent ‘clever’ marketing name ) for better part of this year.

Earlier this year I blogged about my experience of the Suite so far… think of this as a continuation of that.

For those of you who don’t know, Adobe in all their wisdom, decided to move their help files online. I will admit that for applications like Photoshop and Fireworks it does not really bug me all that much, however can you imagine the first time I selected a peice of code in flash, hit F1, expecting the hugely quick and useful help panel to pop up when to my amazement my browser opened.

Well I got over that Adobe pearl of wisdom  earlier this year, with some easily found online solutions  amongst thousands of angry flash developers.

Thinking it was mostly solved, can you imagine my horror when I installed an extension (BlazePDF) into flash CS4 and trying to find the help files only to discover these help files cannot be accessed anymore. That’s right… Adobe forgot about this and have yet to address this.

My solution.

Flash CS3. Oddly enough going back to Flashs CS3 is refreshing purely for the speed at which it runs vs CS4…
